I was at the doctors office in my early 20s for a routine checkup and learned from my blood work that my cholesterol was borderline high.  It totally freaked me out!  There I was in my early 20s….I was healthy.  I exercised.  And I had border line high cholesterol. What?!

So, for years I was concerned about my cholesterol and always wanted to know how to reduce my cholesterol naturally. The risk with any of your cholesterol numbers being above or below normal range is Heart Disease and Stroke so obviously it’s something we really need to pay attention to and make changes if necessary.

My Top 3 Tips on How to Reduce your Cholesterol Naturally

  1. Exercise.
    Yup…you need to get your body moving….for at least 30 minutes a day.
    I work out right in my home following the Beachbody Workout programs through a Beachbody streaming option called Beachbody on Demand.
  2. Change your nutrition.
    You want a balanced diet of  fruits, vegetables, proteins, good fats, carbs and plenty of water.

    I’m a flexitarian (I eat veggies and add meat as I desire).  When I do eat meat I always choose grass fed beef, free range chickens, free range organic eggs and grass fed butter. I was really concerned about my cholesterol when I started to eat more meat.  What’s interesting is that  my cholesterol was actually lowest when I was eating lean, healthy meats.
  3. Drink a nutritional shake.
    I personally drink Shakeology and have been drinking it for 6 years.  It has over 70 all natural ingredients and is clinically proven to maintain healthy cholesterol levels.  My cholesterol numbers are now amazing!
